Haifu National Table Tennis Rubber Booster Oil is the stronger, specialist end of Haifu's booster range, aimed at experienced players preparing hard Chinese-style rubbers and wanting to tune the feel of the sponge. Choose between Black, Yellow and White National Oil depending on whether you favour a firmer explosive response, a softer spin-focused feel, or a balance between the two.
Black vs Yellow vs White: Which Haifu National Oil?
Black Oil – Firm & ExplosiveThe strongest, more direct-feeling choice. Favours speed, power, support and counter-attacking. Best suited to experienced players who can activate a firmer sponge; generally the least forgiving of the three.
Yellow Oil – Softer & Spin-FocusedSoftens and expands the sponge more, helping the ball sink in for greater feel and easier spin generation. A strong choice for looping and players who want more dwell and feedback.
White Oil – BalancedSits between Black and Yellow in playing character, combining a lively response with a more balanced feel. A sensible National-version choice when you do not want either extreme.
These differences are best treated as playing-character guidelines rather than fixed performance numbers. The final result depends heavily on your rubber hardness, blade, number and thickness of coats, and your own technique.
Who Is the National Version For?
National Haifu oils are most relevant to advanced and experienced players using hard Chinese-style inverted rubbers. They are widely discussed and used in high-level table tennis, but claims about individual professional players' exact equipment preparation are difficult to verify, so we do not treat professional use as a guarantee of suitability for every player.
If you are new to boosting or want a less specialised starting point, the Haifu Sea Moon Booster is the more straightforward option.
How to Use Haifu National Booster Oil
Prepare a clean, dry spongeWork with the rubber removed from the blade. Make sure the sponge is clean and free from loose old glue before applying booster.
Apply a thin, even coatBrush the booster evenly over the sponge only. Do not apply booster to the rubber's playing surface.
Let the sponge absorb it naturallyLeave the sheet flat in a ventilated area. As the booster penetrates, the sponge will expand and the rubber will normally begin to dome.
Build the effect graduallyIf another coat is required, wait until the previous application has been absorbed. National oils are strong, so start conservatively rather than over-treating the sponge.
Wait for the dome to relaxAllow the treatment to settle before assembly. Do not force a strongly domed rubber onto the blade.
Attach with water-based glueBooster is not adhesive. Once the rubber has settled, use suitable water-based table tennis glue on the sponge and blade and mount the rubber normally.
Tip: More booster does not automatically mean better performance. Over-boosting can make the rubber harder to control, produce excessive doming and increase the finished covering thickness.
How Long Does the Boost Last?
Our National-version product information has historically quoted an effect of approximately 6–8 weeks. Treat that as an estimate rather than a guarantee: duration varies substantially with the particular oil, rubber and sponge, number of coats, playing frequency and storage. Independent specialist guidance also varies, which is another reason to judge the rubber by feel rather than a fixed calendar date.
Is Rubber Boosting Legal in Competition?
Important competition note: under ITTF racket rules, an approved racket covering must be used without physical, chemical or other treatment. Applying booster after manufacture is therefore not permitted for ITTF-regulated competition, regardless of whether a booster is marketed as VOC-free. Boosting can also expand the sponge and affect the permitted finished thickness. Club and local-league rules can differ in how equipment checks are administered, so players should check the rules of their own competition rather than assume a boosted racket is permitted.
National Oil or Sea Moon?
Choose a National Oil when you already understand boosting and want to fine-tune the response of a hard Chinese rubber: Black for firmer explosive power, Yellow for a softer spin-oriented feel, or White for a middle ground. Choose Haifu Sea Moon if you want a more general-purpose booster or are taking your first steps into rubber preparation.
