Table Tennis Footwork Drill Ideas

1Lateral in-and-out steps
Move sideways through the ladder with both feet entering each space, keeping a low ready posture.
2Forehand–backhand shuffle
Use two quick lateral steps per space, then shadow a forehand or backhand stroke outside the ladder.
3Forward-and-back recovery
Step into a square, recover out and repeat to rehearse moving in for a short ball and back into position.
4Split-step reaction drill
Pause in a ready split step at each space, then react left or right to a coach’s call.
