Compact solo stroke trainer
Huieson Table Tennis Stroke Training Machine
Build a cleaner, more repeatable forehand or backhand without needing a practice partner. This compact fixed-position trainer uses a suction base and rapid-rebound training ball to help you repeat the same contact point, refine your bat angle and understand how different contacts affect rotation.

This is a fixed rebound stroke trainer—not an automatic ball-feeding robot. The attached ball returns after each controlled hit, allowing you to isolate the stroke and practise repetitions at your own pace. Its small, lightweight design is well suited to home practice, coaching sessions and focused warm-up drills.
Why Choose This Stroke Trainer?
Repeat a consistent contact pointThe fixed target helps remove the unpredictability of a live rally while you learn the correct swing path.
Improve stroke accuracyPractise meeting the ball cleanly and in front of the body instead of shadow-stroking without feedback.
Understand spin creationExperiment with contact on different parts of the ball and from different directions to see how racket angle and brushing action influence rotation.
Train independentlyFit it to a suitable tabletop and complete short, focused practice blocks without loose balls or continuous ball collection.
How It Works
The training ball is held on a responsive straight arm. When struck with a controlled stroke, it moves away and rebounds rapidly into position for the next repetition. The rubber suction base and locking switch keep the trainer stable on a compatible smooth surface.
Training focus
-
Forehand drive and topspin: work on body rotation, forward-and-upward acceleration and recovery.
-
Backhand drive and block: develop a compact action and stable racket angle.
-
Timing and hand-eye coordination: practise contacting the ball at a repeatable height and distance.
-
Spin awareness: compare flatter contact with finer brushing contact.
-
Footwork: add a recovery step between repetitions or use separately purchased trainers at different positions.
How to Set Up and Use It
-
Choose a suitable surface. Use a smooth, flat, clean and dry tabletop so the suction cup can form a secure seal.
-
Position the trainer. Place it at the contact point you want to practise, leaving enough room for a safe, natural swing.
-
Lock the suction base. Press the base down and engage the switch, then check that it cannot slide or lift.
-
Start with gentle contact. Use compact, controlled drives and allow the ball to rebound before the next stroke.
-
Increase the challenge gradually. Add brushing action, recovery footwork or timed repetition sets only after your contact is consistent.
Suggested Drills
-
20 clean forehands: prioritise balance, contact in front of the body and returning to ready position.
-
20 compact backhands: keep the elbow stable and use a short forward movement.
-
Topspin brush drill: compare a flatter drive with a finer forward-and-upward brushing action.
-
Hit and recover: take one controlled recovery step after each contact before resetting.
-
Multi-position circuit: if using more than one separately purchased trainer, place them at different table positions to combine attacking strokes with movement.

Training & Care Tips
- Check the suction hold before every session and stop immediately if the base begins to move.
- Clean and dry both the suction cup and mounting surface before use.
- Use controlled technique rather than maximum-force hitting.
- Leave adequate clearance around the trainer for the bat, hand and follow-through.
- Build volume gradually and stop if your movement becomes tense or inaccurate.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this an automatic table tennis robot?
No. It is a compact fixed rebound trainer. You strike the attached ball and the arm returns it for the next repetition; it does not feed loose balls.
How is this different from the Huieson Professional Fixed Training Robot?
This model is the smaller straight suction version at approximately 15 cm high. It has one fixed configuration, whereas the Professional model is larger and offered with different straight, flexible, suction and clamp options.
Can it help with forehand topspin?
Yes. Use controlled contact to practise the forward-and-upward swing, brushing action and recovery. It is also suitable for forehand drives.
Can I practise backhand strokes?
Yes. Reposition the trainer to a comfortable backhand contact point and practise compact drives or blocks.
Will the suction cup work on any table?
It works best on a smooth, flat, clean and dry surface. Textured, dusty, porous or uneven finishes may reduce the hold, so always test stability before training.
Can I use several trainers together?
Yes. Multiple units can be placed at different positions for movement and attacking-pattern drills. This product includes one trainer; extra units are sold separately.
Does it require batteries?
No. The rebound action is entirely mechanical and needs no batteries or mains power.
